My name is Julie Vitale and I was born and raised here in Lynchburg. I currently live in the Timberlake area with my husband, Vince and our three children: Alaina (6), Julian (5) and Victoria (2). Together with my husband, we own an Italian restaurant in Bealeton, VA. Vince travels often for work so homeschooling works great for us to be able to spend quality time with him when he is home. Last year was our first year homeschooling with Alaina attending Kindergarten at Onward. This year Alaina will be in first grade and Julian will be in Kindergarten. As a family we love to go to sporting events and events at our church. We also enjoy traveling and learning more about God’s amazing creations.
I earned my Bachelors of Science in Human Development with a minor in Sociology from Virginia Tech in 2004. In 2006 I completed my Masters of Education in Special Education from Lynchburg College. I worked from 2005-2007 for Lynchburg City Schools teaching Algebra I, Geometry and Personal Finance at Heritage High School. In 2007 I moved to Campbell County Schools where I taught Math 6, 7, and 8 at Brookville Middle School. In the fall of 2007 I moved back to Blacksburg to peruse my Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Upon completion of my Ed.S. I accepted a position as Director of Education for a residential treatment facility based in Fredericksburg, VA. When Alaina was born, Vince and I felt that God was calling me to resign my position and devote my time to raising our children. I have been a work at home mom ever sense. I am excited about God’s call for me to teach again and I cannot wait to learn along side your children!
