“Provide a child with what he needs in the way of instruction, opportunity, and wholesome occupation, and his character will take care of itself.” – Charlotte Mason
I have two children, one an upcoming first grader and the other a 3 1/2-year-old. Children have made me less and less rigid. Having children, balancing a part-time job, taking care of a home, and assisting in my children’s education up until my daughter went to Kindergarten this past year has forced me to let go of some strict scheduling habits. I believe in play, painting, the arts, singing, and dancing. I find such joy when my children master a goal or learn something new. I’m overly enthusiastic in my children’s learning. Homeschooling has been on my heart in some capacity since my oldest was approximately two. It is something I believe in. While my children are currently in the public school system, I hope to one day bring my kids to school with me. I am unbelievably excited and enthusiastic about your children’s learning. I will be one of their biggest cheerleaders!!!
I obtained an Associates in General Studies from CVCC and gained a Bachelors in Psychology with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Development. I immediately began working within the school system after graduating. I worked with children who needed assistance within the school context. These children ranged in ages from 4 to 14. I mainly worked on social skills and frustration management . I have led groups ranging from 6 to 30 children and was responsible for coordinating a summer camp for these at-risk children. I have 9 years of experience in the public school system.
