Which days your student is at home or at Onward can vary based on your program, but here is a sample week:

Students are grounded by their home influence and quality time with family, yet well-rounded due to social and academic opportunities.


Parent Roles

K-4th: Parents play the role of Co-educator

  • In this role, parents are responsible for direct instruction and for monitoring their child’s academic progress. Classroom teachers provide weekly lesson plans which outline the assignments both at home and at school.  

  • K-2nd: parents can expect approximately 1-2.5 hours of work on home study days

  • 3rd-4th: parents can expect approximately 2-3 hours of work on home study days

5th-8th: Parents play the role of Teaching Tutor 

  • In this role, children begin to do more work independently, and parents provide support based on their child’s needs. Classroom teachers provide weekly lesson plans which outline the assignments both at home and at school. Parents will still need to be actively engaged in their student’s progress and assignments.

  • 5th-8th: parents can expect approximately 2.5-4 hours of work on home study days
