What Makes Onward Unique

Onward was the first hybrid model to open in Lynchburg, VA. We are an independent, Christian, non-profit organization. We excel at empowering families and equipping students - supporting parents in their efforts to invest time and training into their children and helping students fall in love with learning, thrive academically, and discover their gifts through a wide variety of electives and athletic offerings. Through a blend of traditional learning and hands-on experiences, our students grow as well-rounded individuals who are prepared for life, having dug deep into who God made them to be, and who understand that education is a gift to be used to serve those around them.

What Do We Value?

We value honoring Christ and pointing students to a relationship with Him. We value supporting the family unit and empowering parents. We value educating the whole child, meaning that we not only want them to gain a strong academic foundation but also develop in their relationship with Jesus, learn how to serve others, discover their personal interests and talents, prepare for life, and experience a nurturing environment both socially and emotionally. We value fostering a strong and supportive community environment amongst our staff and families.   

Why Is This Important?

Our culture demands a hectic pace of life with little family time, often accompanied by a great deal of outside influences that counter Christian principles. At Onward, we believe that who we spend time with influences our values, and our values determine our future. Onward has set out to help families slow the pace of life and centralize the sphere of influence within the home without having to sacrifice strong academics, quality friendships, and parental support. We believe that our educational model prioritizes the family unit, which in turn impacts the lives of children and therefore God's kingdom. Onward is not merely an educational institution; it is a life-changing experience.
